The SERA483-06 TPS is a classic throttle position sensor manufactured by HITACHI, primarily used in Japanese automotive engines and also found in some electronically controlled generators. It is a key sensor for engine fuel injection and power control.
Function and Use
Installed on the engine throttle body The throttle valve opening angle is detected.
The throttle valve opening change is converted into a voltage signal and transmitted to the engine ECU.
Based on this signal, the ECU, combined with data such as engine speed and intake air volume, adjusts the fuel injection rate and ignition advance angle to ensure:
- Stable idling
- Smooth acceleration response
- A reasonable air-fuel ratio and reduced fuel consumption
Main Applications
- Suzuki: Grand Vitara, Vitara, Swift, etc.
- Subaru: Impreza, Legacy, etc.
- Other small gasoline engines using HITACHI electronic control systems
